Ventspils IT Challenge Round 1 applications closed

Wow, this was a dynamic and intense Round 1!

Round 1 of the Ventspils IT Challenge 2022 is now closed and the jury has its work to evaluate all the entries. This has been one of the busiest years of the competition, with a total of 438 teams or 1752 participants in Round 1.

Not all participants have made it to the final result, with a total of 360 entries submitted for evaluation, but even this is a large number of teams. We are sure that the participants have benefited from trying and realising what went wrong in order to reach a successful final result the next year.

A look at the statistics for Round 1:

  • A total of 438 teams entered the competition:
    • Group A: 61 teams;
    • Group B: 145 teams;
    • Group C: 146 teams;
    • Group D: 89 teams.
  • Breakdown of teams by country:
    • 277 teams from Latvia;
    • 87 teams from Lithuania;
    • 74 teams from Estonia.
  • 360 teams submitted entries for evaluation, including:
    • Group A: 61 entries;
    • Group B: 108 entries;
    • Group C: 116 entries;
    • Group D: 75 entries.
  • Competition for a place in the final:
    • Group A: 6,1 teams per place in the final;
    • Group B: 9,0 teams for one place in the final;
    • Group C: 9,5 teams for one place in the final;
    • Group D: 6,3 teams for one place in the final.

The jury will judge the entries for one week, until November 20, to announce on November 21 the 46 teams that have won a place in the final. The results will be published on www.ventspilsitc.com, on the competition’s Facebook @ventspilsitc and Instagram @ventspilsitchallenge accounts, and all participants will be contacted individually by the competition organisers.
